The educational philosophy is based on P.R. Sarkar's philosophy of
Neo-Humanism, which extends the inherent love of human beings to all people, animals, plant life and the inanimate world. This outlook is ideally suited to the needs and changing vision of today's society with its shift from a mechanistic worldview to one based on holistic and collective harmony.

Neo-Humanistic education focuses on inter-connection, unity in diversity, the use of science and technology for the welfare of all and maintaining an ecologically balanced world. By cultivating this universal outlook, Neo-Humanistic education strives to check the growth of narrow sentiments and exploitation which currently divide the world.

Education Based On Ecology

The guiding philosophy of Sunrise Playschool & Kindergarten is Neo-Humanist Education. Neo-Humanism is the philosophy of the innate oneness of all things. Studying about the „web of life‰ helps understand the interconnections between self, others and the natural environment.

Neo-Humanist education fosters love and respect for all, regardless of
culture, religion, race or nationality, and for animals and plants and the earth‚s ecosystems. Children learn these principles both through lessons and teacher modeling, as well as through developing their own intuitional feeling of the interconnectedness of all things.

Child-Centered Approach

Our Child-Centered approach to education caters to each child‚s interests and learning styles. By providing a rich environment and a variety of educational choices, we help children direct, develop and expand their own interests and unique talents. We support children in making their own choices, both individually and as a group.

Additionally, we emphasize, „learning by doing. Many of our activities are experiential and „hands on". Young children, especially, learn through the medium of games and play. We help sustain their ability to imagine, play, and visualise in many of our activities.

Whole Child Learning

Neo-Humanist Education also recognizes and encourages the development of a balanced personality. Our program helps children learn moral and personal qualities and integrates all aspects of the child‚s being-body, senses, intellect, emotions, imagination, intuitions and spirit. It is a harmonious synthesis of freedom and responsibility, mysticism and practicability, rationality and creativity, challenge and realization, self-reliance and interdependence.
