Our Curriculum

Sunrise Kindergarten offers a well-rounded curriculum based on free play, group and individually – directed activities.

1. Music – teaching songs which reflect love, care and importance of others – people, animals, plants, and non-living things

2. Body movement and awareness – includes physical exercises and yoga for physical development and relaxation

3. Quiet times - creative visualizations and use of imagination through yoga

4. Games and other activities to develop motor and sensory skills
5. Dance and Theater
6. Arts and crafts

7. Storytelling

8. Alphabet and Math
9. Basic geography and learning about other cultures

10. Daily outdoor play and occasional excursions

11. The use of Montessori apparatus, Esikoulu (pre-school) curriculum for six year olds
12. Daily meditation for the all-round development of the child, concentration and harmony with others

The various activities of the curriculum are based on our monthly themes such as:  space, fire, water, earth, myself, family, people around us, birds, animals, insects, plants and many others to teach children moral values and ecological awareness in its broadest sense.
